This October, we're celebrating Black History Month by bringing you dishes inspired by Afro-Caribbean heritage. Every week, you can find a special dish on campus that showcase the flavours, ingredients and traditions of Black culinary history.
So whether you're looking for flavours from home or want to try something new, here's a guide to what is on offer across campus for students and staff throughout October.
Fourth Floor Restaurant: Weekly BHM Feature Days
The Fourth Floor Restaurant is hosting a dedicated Black History Month special day over the next two weeks, featuring full menu themes across our meat and vegetarian options. See what we're serving up:
🗓️ Thursday 1 October & Tuesday 6 October
- Jerk chicken with jollof rice and garlic herb okra
- Goat curry with fried plantain and rice
- Red lentil stew with rice and garlic herb okra
Alongside the dedicated feature days, keep an eye out for more culturally inspired options throughout the week, including:
- Friday 2 October: Baked North African style chicken thighs
- Thursday 8 October: Cuban-style cod with cumin, coriander, garlic and tomato
Staff Dining Room: Daily Celebration Dishes
For staff dining on campus, the celebration will run every day throughout October, with the kitchen serving an inspired dish each day. Expect to see spiced stews, marinated grills and more.
Come back here for the updated menu, or check the daily counter displays in the Staff Dining Room each morning for the day's featured lunch option.
Food is one of the best ways to learn, share and connect. So stop by the Fourth Floor Restaurant on weekly feature days or visit the Staff Dining Room daily to enjoy these special menus.
